Basic Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies

This course is designed for the general public who is interested to seek fundamental understanding of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

It provides an overview of the structure and mechanisms by which blockchain and cryptocurrencies operate, illustrated through face-to-face session.

Programme Objectives

To provide participants with an understanding on the following:

1. Technology components of the blockchain ecosystem and its application in various industries
2. Theoretical concepts of cryptocurrencies
3. Theoretical concepts of smart contracts and decentralised applications
4. Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) features and creation process

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

LO1:  Recognise the infrastructure and mechanism used in the Blockchain ecosystem
LO2: Understand the process of cryptocurrencies issuance, proof-of-work and alternative consensus mechanisms and transactions
LO3: Know the applications of smart contracts and decentralised applications
LO4: Describe initial coin offering features and creation

Assessment

30 multiple choice questions on each of the Learning Outcomes. Participants who score 70% and above will be awarded with a Certificate of Achievement.

Every participant will be given a Certificate of Attendance.
